NFL: NFL Week 5 Picks (Part Two)

Posted on | October 4, 2008 | 1 Comment

It’s time to go over the second half of my NFL picks.

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans

The Colts are starting to put it together. Judging by their talent and coaching, I have to believe that they’ll take another major step coming out of the bye week.

Manning and company should put up some points.

My Pick: Indianapolis

Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars

This is a big early season match-up.

The Steeler haven’t shown much of an ability to protect Big Ben.

The Jaguars are starting to get on track.

My Pick: Jacksonville

New England Patriots at San Francisco 49ers

The Pats looked as bad two weeks as they’ve looked since Belicheat has been their coach – and that includes the season they missed the playoffs.

No way they lose this game, right?

But it will be close enough to keep people in Boston grumbling about Matt Cassell.

My Pick: New England

Seattle Seahawks at New York Giants

The Giants are 3-0. However, two of their wins have come against winless teams. And their other win came against a Washington team that looked lost in their first game.

Now the Giants come into this game without Plax Burress.

I like Seattle by a couple touchdowns.

My Pick: Seattle

Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles

Zorn has done a great job so far, and the Skins are riding high after knocking off the Cowboys last week.

But, the Eagles won’t sit back and let Campbell dink and dunk like the Cowboys did.

My Pick: Philadelphia

San Diego Chargers at Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins had a huge win two weeks ago.

The Chargers have started to get on the right track. I like San Diego but the game will be close.

My Pick: San Diego

Tennessee Titans at Baltimore Ravens

The Titans are for real, as long as Kerry Collins is under center.

I like the Titans in a very physical game.

My Pick: Tennessee

Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints

The Vikings will run the ball at will and the Saints will throw the ball at will. The result will be a high scoring slugfest.

But I think Brees will be able to outscore Petersen.

My Pick: New Orleans

Houston takes it to Indy. Manning is still hurt and even if A Gonzo comes up big they just don’t have the D to stop Hou and Slayton. My two cents….
