MLB: Everything Coming Up Diamonds for the D-Backs

Things just keep going great for the Arizona Diamondbacks. In fact everything is going just perfectly right now.

On Tuesday night the Arizona Diamondbacks squeeked by the San Francisco Giants. It was their fiteenth win of the year, but just as important it was the fifth win of this young season for D-Backs star pitcher, Brandon Webb. He is now 5-0. After being dominant through the later summer months last year, Webb has picked up right where he left off.

Even more amazing then the fifteen wins by Arizona and the five early wins by Webb is the six game lead that the Diamondbacks are now enjoying in the National League West. Six games! And it’s not even the end of April yet.

Keeping pace with the Diamondbakcs in the National League are the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs are playing great baseball right now – perhaps even better than the D-Backs at this very moment. The Cubs are riding a five game winning streak and have now opened-up a game and a half lead over the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Central.

Over in the NL East the Florida Marlins continue to lead the division while the Red Sox are still red-hot in the AL East. The AL Central is led by the Chicago White Sox and the AL West is dead locked with the Anaheim Angels and the Oakland A’s leading the division right now.

So besides the NL West, every other division is pretty close right now, as it should be in April. But in the NL West, the D-Backs are making a strong push to wrap things up by July and at this rate they’ll be able to do it.
