MLB: A Wealth of Great Teams and A Couple Previews

As we swing into another week in the baseball season, there are more teams that are playing great baseball then I can remember in many years. In no particular order all of these teams are playing great baseball: Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Angels, Oakland A’s, New York Mets, Florida Marlins, Chicago Cubs, and Arizona Diamondbacks.

Then you can add a few other teams to the list who have a lot of talent and have shown flashes of being good but haven’t put it all together yet. These teams include: New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Indians, Seattle Mariners, Atlanta Braves, and Colorado Rockies.

All of the above teams can make it to the playoffs. So we should be in for quite a treat as this season continues to unfold.

Now, for this week there are at least a couple good match-ups to look out for.

The Chicago White Sox will be battling the New York Yankees. The White Sox sit atop the AL Central. The Yankees are near the basement of the AL East. So the Yanks need wins to get back near the top and the White Sox need wins to stay near the top. The game will be played in Chicago but I still see the Yanks winning at least 2 games in the series.

In the same city – but a different league – the New York Mets will take on the Chicago Cubs. Both of these teams are at or near the top of their divisions. Once again I see the New York team winning at least 2 games in this series.
