Friday’s Match-ups

On Thursday we’ll eliminate 4 more teams so that there’ll only be 12 teams left. After Friday the Tournament will be down to 8 teams - the Elite 8.

All of Friday’s match-ups look very good. ‘Nova and Kansas may be the most lopsided game of the day but don’t count out the Wildcats. They’ve been playing very good basketball for a while now - if you take away bad loss to the Georgetown Hoyas. Still, I think Kansas wins this game by double digits.

The best match-up of the night will be the Texas Longhorns taking on the Stanford Cardinal. These teams appear to be evenly matched. However, I think Texas will slowly pull away in this one.

Michigan State and Memphis is another great match-up. Memphis is a number one seed and Michigan State is a number five seed but Michigan State Head Coach Tom Izzo always has is team playing their best basketball in March and this year is no exception. But Memphis Coach John Calipari isn’t a sloach either. Still, I think Michigan State wins this game.

Finally, the Davidson against Wisonsin gives fans across the country to root for a long shot. This game will be close throughout and Davidson may wind-up pulling it out in the end. I just don’t think that Wisconsin has what it takes to pull away from Davidson and the longer this one remains close the better the chances are for Davidson. So I will go with Davidson in this one.

All of these games should be a lot of fun to watch, as will the games in the Elite 8. Hopefully one or two longshots will survive so that fans can continue to root for them. Only time will tell as the Madness continues…
