After winning the competitive Betfair Hurdle at Newbury earlier this month, My Tent or Yours has elevated to the top of the market for the Supreme Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
Nicky Henderson will look to get his week off to a flyer in the traditional opener over 2m. His six-year old has lost just once this season when he was beaten by Chatterbox at Newbury in December. Since then though, he has gone on to enhance his Festival claims with each run, including that five length victory against the older horses.
The John McManus-owned six-year old will be joined in the field by the Irish raider Jezki who also carries the same colours for his owner. The novice has had a successful season so far with four wins from four over hurdles in Ireland, his most recent win coming at Leopardstown where he beat a field that included Waaheb by six lengths.
Willie Mullins will also have the opportunity to get the Irish team off to a good start on day one with his unbeaten Un Atout. He has just the one run so far when he came home 19 lengths clear of the field at Naas back in January. This will be his first test outside of Ireland in the Supreme Novices Hurdle.
Tolworth Hurdle winner Melodic Rendezvous also joins a strong line up for the opener of the Festival. He comes into this after victory at Exeter where he beat the odds-on favourite Puffin Billy in impressive style. He has the advantage of a victory at Prestbury Park under his belt which came in December. His only defeat over Hurdles came at Exeter on debut when Mr Mole finished ahead of him in a 14 runner field.
